LESLEY’S REPORT
This year we will host another visit from our sister school in China. We will have students and a teacher from Wujiang Shengze Primary School staying with host families from the school and attending Don Valley PS for a few days in August. We are really looking forward to the visit, which was great success two years ago with our students and the Chinese students having a great time together while actively experiencing and learning about different cultures. It was an invaluable experience in expanding horizons. Last year on a trip I made with my husband, we were able to extend our stay in China to visit the sister school; where we were greeted very warmly and welcomed with the customary wonderful Chinese hospitality. It has been very rewarding for both of our schools to maintain these cultural ties.

On April 26th we will be holding an Open Day at Don Valley PS. Visitors are very welcome from 9:30-3:00pm where they can observe school life as it happens and take away additional information about the school that they might like to have. Visitors of course are welcome at other times and just need to ring the office on 59 673321 to make an appointment to be shown around or for further information.

In term two starting on Tuesday May 30th, 2:30-3:15 we will be commencing Story Time for 3 to 4 year olds (pre school age children) which will run every Tuesday until term 4 when we commence our transition program. This will replace our Multi-Age Program from previous years and will include more songs, and rhymes suitable also for a slightly younger age of child as well as a main story and craft activities.
